Privacy Policy
The short version
This policy covers the Wrathforge app on phones and on the web.
Your training data is yours. It lives on your device first. Without an account it never leaves it, except for the lookups listed under "Sent to other services".
With an account, a copy is stored in our cloud database so you can use more than one device and keep a backup. Only you can read it, unless you choose to share something.
We do not sell your data, show ads, or share it with anyone for marketing.
What we keep (with an account, visible only to you)
Account: your email address and a password (our login provider stores it scrambled, in a form that cannot be read back; we never see it).
If you enter an invite or award code, we keep which code your account used and when, so the code cannot be used twice and your perks come back when you sign in again.
If you ask for a beta invite on our website, we keep what you typed (name, email, phone type, how you train) and your place on the waitlist, only to send you a code. Ask and we delete it.
If you send a problem report from Settings, we keep the text, the screen you were on, the app version and the phone type, tied to your account.
Profile: nickname, birth year, sex (optional, only for the calorie formula), height, weight, body fat (optional), goal, pace and goal weight, your own calorie and protein numbers, experience, activities, weekly schedule, job activity, equipment, diet choices and disliked foods.
Training: your plan and starting numbers, every workout (sets, weights, reps, effort, notes, times, weather tags), activities (type, time, duration, distance, effort, notes), moments and XP history.
Fuel: your food log, water, your own foods, saved meals, recipes, favorites, meal-plan choices, grocery checks, and your supplement log (what you take, the dose, and which days you ticked it). The supplement log is never shown to friends, in the feed or on leaderboards.
Body: measurements (weight, waist, arms, chest) and your weight log.
Settings and profile: routines, rest times, plate settings, programs you built, challenges, your profile picks (banner, frame, nameplate, title, emblems, showcase and loadouts), coaching voice, quiet mode, theme and notification switches.
Photos and videos you add to workouts, activities, moments and progress photos. Photos are resized and cleaned of location and camera details before upload. Videos on phones keep their sound.
Notifications: your device's push address and time zone, only if you turn notifications on.
Shared only if you choose
Social profile (nickname, profile picks, profile photo if you add one, friend code): your friends see it. Leaderboard members see your nickname and profile, only if you join a board.
Nickname search: if "Let people find me by nickname" is on, signed-in people who type 3 or more letters of your nickname see your nickname and profile, never your email, phone or friend code. It is on by default for adults and off for ages 13–17. Blocked people never see you. A friend request still needs your OK. There is no search by email or phone.
Photos and videos: friends see them only if you switch on sharing. Progress photos are never shared.
Sessions you share: friends see the type, title, date and time, duration and a few totals (volume and records for lifting, distance and pace for runs, rounds for combat), with any photos or video you added. Never where you were. Sessions are private until you share them; new accounts and imports from a health app start private. Friends can react and comment; you can unshare or delete a post, and delete any comment on it.
Comments: friends who can see a shared session see your comment on it, with your nickname and profile. You can edit or delete your own comments.
Crews and group sessions: other members see your nickname, profile (with your photo, if you added one) and your totals for that group.
Buddy tags: the friend you tag sees the workout title, minutes, exercises and reps (no weights).
Shared programs: anyone with the code or link can open a copy of that program.
Defaults: leaderboards off, global leaderboard off, session and photo sharing off, friends can tag you on (you approve each tag), find me by nickname on for adults and off for 13–17, weather tags off, notifications only after you turn them on.
Sent to other services
Food search and barcodes: the search words or barcode go through our server to USDA FoodData Central or Open Food Facts. Nothing that identifies you is sent.
Supplement barcodes go through our server to the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database and Open Food Facts. Nothing that identifies you is sent.
Weather tags (only if switched on): your location rounded to about 1 km and the session date go to Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com), a free weather service. The location is not stored; only the weather is. A lookup waiting for a connection keeps the rounded location for at most 7 days.
If you turn notifications on, a device token is stored so notifications can be delivered through Expo's push service and the push service built into your phone or browser (Google or Apple).
Push notifications: the notification text goes through Apple's, Google's or your browser's push service.
Our review team gets an email with the number of new reports (no names or content) through Resend.
Invite codes and shared-program codes are checked on our server.
Exercise demo videos: a web video search opens with the exercise name, only when you tap.
Location is only used for weather tags, while the app is open. No background location.
Health data (Apple Health and Health Connect)
Only if you tap "Import", we read workouts (type, start and end, and distance) from Apple Health or Android Health Connect. We never write to them.
Health data is used only to show your training in the app, count it toward your plan, streak and XP, and (if you have an account) sync it to your other devices. It is never used for advertising, sold, or shared with third parties.
You can turn off access at any time in the Health or Health Connect settings on your phone.
What is not in the app
No ads, analytics, crash reporting or tracking tools, and no cookies set by the app.
The web app keeps your theme choice and the invite-code check in your browser's local storage.
To run the beta we count totals from account data already on our server (sign-ups, who trained in their second week, problem reports). Totals only, no profiles, nothing from people without an account.
Where it is stored
On your device, in the app's private storage (or your browser's storage for the web app).
If you sign in: in our database and private file storage hosted by Supabase. Each account can only read its own data unless you share it (enforced by the database).
Age
The app is for ages 13 and up. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you enter a birth year under 13, nothing you entered is saved and no account is created.
Users 13–17 can use the social features. Their new activities start private, and they can't be found by nickname unless they switch it on.
Your choices
Export: Me → Your data → Export everything gives you one file with your workouts, activities, body measurements, food log and water as spreadsheets, a full backup of your profile, plan, recipes and settings, and your photos and videos (your profile photo included).
Delete: Me → Account → Delete account deletes every photo and video, your account and all of its server data (including programs you shared, crews you created and group sessions you hosted), and clears the device. "Delete data on this phone" removes only what is on the device.
